Observation Narrative
This site contains several large Quercus shumardii individuals, but there is sparse evidence of regeneration. Instead Asimina triloba is present in many strata. This site probably floods once or twice a year, although the landowner indicated that there were larger floods. Just outside the plot are saplings of Quercus michauxii. Urtica dioica (?) and Polemonium reptans also occur near but not in the plot. There are few signs of disturbance other than flooding, and only two exotic species were noted in the plot.
